About the event

Why do we dance queer tango now? Well, obviously, because we enjoy it (and that is no small matter), and yet, meanwhile in the world, wars are raging, reactionary politics is resurgent, there is a push back against feminism, a push back against LGBTQ+ rights. “Straight” tango – the tango that queer tango was (partly) created to critique – is remodelling itself before our eyes, with greater tolerance, not less on its dance floors, and dual and double role tango attracting dancers, straight and queer, comfortable with what it offers.

And so we ask, "what, now, can our dancing queer tango do?". This event is designed for you to share with others who dance queer - and possibly think - as you do, your responses to the “What NOW?” of its title. We look forward to welcoming you, and to hearing what you have to say say this informal discussion chaired by Manu Sanz.

This event is FREE to those with a Festival Pass, Milonga Pass or Saturday Day Pass. You will not need to show a ticket.

BUT registering for a free ticket helps us manage this event, will mean we can update you with any changes and it will include it in your personal itinerary. Additionally, in the (unlikely) event that this event exceeds capacity, priority will be given to those who have reserved their space.
