About the event

With the world in the state that it is, and changing fast, with reactionary politics resurgent and wars breaking out - we ask “what now for queer tango?”

Does what are we doing at present - or even dancing - still matter? If it does, how can it - and how can we - make a difference?

What should we be doing, and why?

The Queer Tango Discussion is an opportunity for you to have your say, to be heard and to hear others.

Spanish dancer, teacher and activist, Manu Sanz will be facilitating our discussion and you can expect to hear thought-provoking contributions from queer tango activists of all generations from around the world.

All voices are equal in this conversation, whether you’re an sustained queer tango activist of several decades (like our guest Edgardo Fernández Sesma from Buenos Aires), or you are new to thinking about these questions and have innovative ideas of your own.  We want to hear from you.

Who knows? We might even go away with some real answers to those questions - answers which we need now, as never before.

This event is FREE to those with a Festival Pass, Milonga Pass or Saturday Day Pass. You will not need to show a ticket.

BUT registering for a free ticket helps us manage this event, will mean we can update you with any changes and it will include it in your personal itinerary. Additionally, in the (unlikely) event that this event exceeds capacity, priority will be given to those who have reserved their space.
